What RigRoo Is Designed to Do
- Save multiple vehicle profiles with category, height, width, length, GVM, GCM, axle details, trailers, PBS, HML, oversize, and overmass settings
- Display native maps using Apple MapKit on iOS and Google Maps on Android
- Search for destinations without treating ordinary map search results as heavy-vehicle suitability evidence
- Model height, width, length, mass, axle, vehicle-class, network, closure, time, permit, and direction restrictions
- Classify evaluated road segments and routes as Suitable, Warning, Restricted, or Unknown
- Keep official, community, inferred, and controlled-test source information distinct
Current Development Status
- Completed: app foundation, onboarding, local vehicle profiles, native map foundation, heavy-vehicle domain, restriction-engine prototype, and prototype routing
- Current objective: research approved NSW heavy-vehicle road and restriction data sources, including licensing, attribution, update, and redistribution requirements
- Internal distribution: signed iOS build 0.1.0 (9) is valid in App Store Connect/TestFlight, and the matching Android App Bundle is on Google Play's internal track
- Not connected: no production road network or production heavy-vehicle restriction dataset
- Current routing: synthetic, controlled test data shown only in development as CONTROLLED TEST ROUTE • NOT NAVIGATION
Safety-Critical Status
RigRoo is not currently a production navigation service. Do not use the internal prototype to make real-world heavy-vehicle route, access, clearance, mass, permit, or safety decisions.
Even after production release, route information cannot guarantee access or safety. Drivers and operators remain responsible for the actual vehicle and load, permits, official signs and directions, road-authority notices, laws, weather, closures, work sites, and real road conditions.
Missing or incomplete restriction coverage must be treated as Unknown, never as proof that a route is suitable.
Privacy Summary
Current builds store onboarding state and vehicle profiles locally on the device. RigRoo requests foreground/when-in-use location only to centre the map and show the current-location marker. It does not request background location. Current project dependencies do not include analytics, advertising, account, or cloud-backend SDKs.
Map display and destination lookup use Apple services on iOS and Google services on Android, subject to their platform terms and privacy practices. See the RigRoo Privacy section for details.
