A Traders Journey is a fictional trading and route-planning strategy game set around station markets, crew payouts, cargo contracts, and the hard-won trust of a working merchant ship.
The game starts small: 250 credits, a bunk near the cargo lift, and one clear assignment from the crew: learn the board before departure.
All markets are fictional. It is entertainment software, not investing, gambling, crypto, currency trading, or financial advice.
Gameplay Highlights
- Read station news, demand, supply, and fictional market quotes before deciding what to buy or sell
- Trade fictional station equities, commodities, and futures with brokerage, average buy price, holdings, and portfolio value
- Accept cargo contracts such as timed delivery, bulk haul, relief cargo, arbitrage routes, speculative cargo, and faction reputation jobs
- Pick routes on a SpriteKit star map, check fuel and provisions, resolve travel events, and dock at the next station
- Earn unload payouts through a crew-share formula as your rank improves from Quarter Share toward Owners Share
- Use difficulty settings, local saves, sound cues, onboarding, story entries, and a trading guide designed around the fictional game systems
Progression Direction
- Early game: learn the market board, buy a first fictional asset, complete initial unloads, and qualify for Half Share review
- Midgame: build reputation, manage route risks, complete better contracts, and climb officer-track share ranks
- Late game: reach Owners Share, upgrade the ship, found Promise Freight Company, and expand beyond one vessel
- Endgame: grow a fleet from Regional Carrier to Shipping Empire, then launch subsidiaries to keep legacy bonuses moving
Important Boundaries
- All tickers, assets, companies, commodities, futures, stations, contracts, routes, and currencies are fictional
- No real securities, real crypto, real currencies, loot boxes, gambling mechanics, or financial advice
- Core saves use local JSON storage rather than cloud sync
- The free tier can show full-screen ads after completed travel; planned StoreKit subscriptions remove those ads
